We welcome you to our historic Club which was formed in 1892. More than a century of sustained effort ensures that the principles of its famous architect, Dr Alister MacKenzie of Augusta and Pebble Beach fame, have been retained. The Course is considered to be one of the best in the South West, particularly its greens which give a true roll all year round. We are confident that you will enjoy the challenge that the Course and the elements undoubtedly provide.
The clubhouse provides a comprehensive range of facilities, including a "spike bar", comfortable lounge with a separate dining area, as well as Conference facilities. There are practice putting and chipping greens next to the clubhouse and a practice ground alongside the 17th hole.
Our chosen charity this year is Weston Hospice. Each year the hospice, which has 10 beds in it’s in-patient unit, will provide palliative care to people with life limiting illnesses and their families in the North Somerset and surrounding areas. The unit also has a 3 day a week Day Hospice and provides an out of hours “at home” service as well as Chaplaincy and Bereavement support for adults and children.
All of this care and support is provided free. It will cost £3m over the next year to provide these services with only 19% funded by the Primary Care Trust.
The rest is raised by the generosity of the local community and clubs such as ours.
We hope you will support the clubs events and golf charity days this year.
Together we strive to continue to promote the warm, friendly atmosphere at the Club and look forward to meeting as many members and visitors throughout the year.
Many thanks

Best wishes for a great golfing 2013 to all Club Members and Visitors. It is an honour to be Seniors Captain at a historic Club like Weston super Mare representing such a supportive and friendly Seniors Section.
The Seniors Section has some 130 members who welcome new members, so if you are coming up to 55 years of age in 2013 why not join our very friendly section and play in matches against other clubs (we play 42 matches a year), senior competitions and roll up's. There is an administration fee of £5 to join the seniors, which should be paid to our Secretary Nigel Jillings.
The matches against other Clubs are normally on a home and away basis follwed by a drink and meal with new friends. The matches are played from March through to October, so please look at the Seniors noitceboard regularly and add your name to the entry lists. Our Seniors competitions and roll up's are well organised, enabling everyone to play with a wide variety of seniors and enjoy good company and a drink and snack in the Clubhouse afterwards. You will undoubtedly come across groups setting the world to rights - but nobody takes any notice!
Please note you need an active handicap to compete in competitions but that is easily arranged by asking either myself or another member to mark a score card for you.
I will be pleased to greet any new or prospective members at any time on the Course or in the Clubhouse. Should you have any queries, worries or would like to be introduced to other members or see what the Club has to offer, please contact me whenever you like. If you can't find me at the Club drop me an email or telephone.
Best Wishes
Mike Hill
