Although stroke index three (thirteen for ladies) this is not the most difficult hole on the course. That is the privilege of the fifteenth. Ideally the drive should be down the right but long enough to negotiate a ditch on the right which also turns right at about one hundred and ninety yards. There is a bunker at about the same distance on the left. A medium to long iron should find the green, but there is a bunker left and to leave it right means a very tricky chip.
The ditch that runs all the way down the right hand side can gather in any sliced tee shot but this is the better side of the fairway to finish. The fairway and green side bunkers are all down the left hand side of this hole. This green is another with hidden ground beyond its bunker, making the approach shot look shorter than it is. Choose a club that will get you to the back of the green and you won't be far away from the pin.
