Local Rules


  1. Out of Bounds - a ball is out of bounds if it lies:

    (a) On or beyond the inside line at ground level of any line of white posts.
    (b) Beyond any fence or wall forming a boundary to the course. Note: Pieces of fencing in the dunes to the right of holes 1-4 are not boundary fences.
    (c) In any of the ditches to the right of the 6th hole, behind the 14th green, to the right of the 15th hole, to the right of the 17th hole, to the right of the 18th hole.
    (d) In the car park, in or beyond the bushes parallel to the road to the clubhouse, or any path or patio or flowerbed adjacent to the clubhouse, or on the putting green and surrounding area as identified.
    (e) Beyond the fence surrounding the pond to the left of the 14th hole.
    (f) Within the perimeter of the derelict building adjacent to the 15th hole.


  2. Immovable Obstructions
    The following are immovable obstructions and relief may be obtained under Rule 24-2: The nearest point of relief must be determined without crossing through or under the obstruction

    • Staked trees
    • Artificial surfaces and sides of paths.

    In addition, a ball which lies on the gabion basket or on the length of path abutted by the gabion basket walls adjacent to the 10th tee, and by the timber fence adjacent to the 3rd tee, may be lifted and dropped, without penalty, at the nearest point on the course side of the path, which is not nearer the hole and provides relief from the obstruction.

    • Wire Mesh Shield (11th Tee)
    • Gabion basket walls adjacent to the 3rd green and the 10th tee
    • Timber fence adjacent to the 3rd tee
    • The steps in the bunker at the 7th hole
    • Bricks or sleepers supporting teeing grounds
    • Fixed Sprinkler Heads.

    In addition, if a sprinkler on or within two club lengths of the putting green being played intervenes on the line of play between the ball and the hole, relief may obtained without penalty as follows: If the ball lies off the putting green but not in a hazard and is within two club lengths of the sprinkler, it may be lifted.
