Hole Ten

The tenth completes the first loop. The temptation is to drive away from trouble to the right, towards the first fairway. However, the further to the right from which the second is played the more difficult it is to get close to the pin, especially if it’s on the right of the green! Stories of birdies and pars after rebounding off the clubhouse roof are legendary.

Pro's Tip

Standing on this tee you are sheltered by the dunes. Don't forget which way the wind is blowing, and play as far left as you dare. The second shot is often rewarded if a lower running shot is chosen. The wind can howl across the practice putting green, not felt by the golfer sheltered by the dunes, and blow any high wedge shot way off line. Also watch out for a soft, lush grass, area just short of the putting surface. Any shot that lands here does not bounce and run as you might expect.
