Hole Thirteen

Another five hole which provides birdie opportunity with a good drive. The fairway is wide and the one problem is that the hole is usually played into the wind. Bunkers short and right of the green often catch the ambitious looking to get home in two. The green is slightly raised, but the base of the pin can be seen from anywhere in the fairway.

Pro's Tip

You can see it all from the tee, but you're not aiming for the green with your tee shot. Think about how far down your drive might land. The further your drive goes the narrower the fairway gets.

Approach shots should favour the left side of the green to avoid the two bunkers waiting for any loose shots. This is a big green with a gentle slope from back to front, so you can attack the pin. Leave uphill putts if you can. A long putt from back to front could be race away from you in summer.
