Hole Nine

Ideally, the drive should be down the right but long enough to negotiate a ditch on the right – which also turns right at about one hundred and ninety yards.  There is a bunker at about the same distance on the left.  A medium to long iron should find the green but there is a bunker left and to leave it right means a very tricky chip.

Pro's Tip

The safe tee shot is one down the left hand side of the fairway, but if you are planning to reach the green in two then this is best done from the right hand side – a risk/reward choice of tee shot. If the wind is blowing off the sea it will only take you closer to the ditch that protects the hole all the way down the right side. If you are not going to reach the green in two, then leaving yourself an approach shot from short right of the green is the best choice. Your approach to the green often gets caught by the ridge that runs across the green. If the flag is in the middle or the back, take one more club than you think.
