Welcome to Weston super Mare seniors section. All members aged 55 and over are eligible to join this section on payment of just £5 or if you are lucky enough to be playing aged 80 and older the subscription to our section is free.
On Mondays we have our seniors competitions which are many and varied with a plethora of trophies to be won which are presented at our fantastic Christmas lunch, which for many is the highlight of the golfing year and a most enjoyable occasion.
As a section we have over thirty representative matches against clubs in our region and further afield. Golfers of all abilities are welcome to play in these matches which are followed by a meal and some good natured banter with our opponents. It is also my intention to have an away day at a time and venue to be decided.
We also enter a team into the County competitions which is the Somerset Bowl. A new team has emerged, Seniors Avalon League team.
The Seniors Scratch team, matches have enjoyed success in the past three seasons winning twice, and one as runners up in consecutive years, a major achievement, Congratulations.
Best wishes to all the Senior teams this season.

This year I have chosen Motor Neurone Disease, MND, as my preferred charity. The courage and bravery shown by one of our members is an example to us all, I will do everything I can to raise much needed funds for MND
I am extremely honoured to have been chosen to be Captain of this fine section, I look forward to meeting as many of you as possible, enjoying (if that’s the right word) a game of golf with you and then possibly enjoying a glass of something cold in the clubhouse post game.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or concerns and I wish you all a great year both on and off the golf course.
Steve Petrie
